Priorities

I've had a great few days in regards to workouts.
On Friday, I set a new 5K PR at 29:24~!
On Saturday, I did another Crossfit workout which consisted of the bench press at 65 pounds, dead lifts at 80, and cleans at 40. I did 10 of each, then 9 of each, then 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 of each for time. My total time was 16:27.
Then this morning, when I should have been cleaning the mess that is my kitchen:
or doing dishes:
Michael and I decided to go hiking instead! We woke up at 5:30 and headed to Camelback Mountain. We took the pup with us and determined that she must be part Beagle and part Mountain Goat because she was so courageous and so great. She had no problem jumping up rocks and climbing up edges. It was pretty hilarious...and she's been sleeping since we got home!
We ended up hiking for two hours and it was pretty strenuous. From the 5K sprint, the deadlifts, and today's hike, my hammies are going to be killing me tomorrow so it will be a rest day.
Oh, and afterwards, I came home, took a nap, then woke up and cleaned my filthy kitchen:
and
and also did the dishes
Hey, a girl's gotta have priorities right?

Kitchen looks good!
Great job on the 5K PR!
um...I've never felt so lazy in my life after reading your post! wanna fly here and clean my kitchen too? or, keep laynie entertained long enough that I can do it myself?
I wouldn't DARE take a picture of this place right now....
I can't get over that you got up to go hiking at 5:30 a.m. When Mike and I come out on October, I'd like to do some hiking, but I request that we start at a more reasonable hour. You know, like after 8 a.m.
Congrats on your PR!
Amy, I promise when you come that we won't get up that early...the weather dictates what time you go hiking. By 10:30 AM, it's over 100 degrees so you have to go early.
I see you have a few nutrition books on your kitchen counter. I highly recommend Nancy Clark's Sports Nutrition book - I actually bought that one for my husband a few years ago because I liked it so much. Not so sure how I feel abut the Pritikin book - the Pritikin ideas can be a bit constricting at times in terms of limiting sources of protein and fat. Anyway, glad to see you are reading about nutrition either way! Congrats on the new record!
