I'm still here!
I'm not dead.
Just chilaxin and recovering slowly.
Overall, I feel pretty good. My lower half is sore, but mostly just my calves. My hips and knees are less sore than during my training runs so I'm pleased with that.
I knew I'd be feeling my calves for days... they were soooo tight during the race I knew I would be paying for that. I can't stand on my toes to get a glass off the top shelf in the kitchen!
I went for a walk yesterday and today and took it very slowly- loosening my legs with every step. I feel better when I get done walking and if I've been sitting or lying down for a while, I'm incredibly stiff and that's the worst.
I'm leaving in a few minutes to go to the gym to sit in the jacuzzi for a while. I did that yesterday too and it was like heaven for my muscles! I've also been applying Bengay religiously and taking Tylenol... I will be happy when I no longer smell like menthol.
I'm back to work tomorrow!

Sounds like you are recovering well and taking your time. You deserve it.
As far as the fitness test goes, I am just planning on taking it again in six months to see where I am at. That's just my personal preference!
Odd that you don't like being menthol scented. I hear it's all the rage in Europe. Britney Spears has a new fragrance coming out called "sport"....
I hope you get to feeling stretchy and relaxed again soon. Tight/sore/stiff muscles are the worst.
Congrats on the race! You are amazing.
Hi! Sounds like you are actually recovering pretty good! I loooove a jacuzzi for muscle soreness. Enjoy these recovery days and take it very easy. Be careful when you decide to finally run again- I would suggest 2 or more weeks. And it might take you about a month to completely recover! Not everyone is the same, but don't be worried if you're still fatigued or anything weeks from now. You worked your butt off out there girl and you deserve a break. :) Congrats again on the race!
Sounds like you're recovering well. How are stairs? They're the worst after a marathon.
Enjoy the jaccuzzi!
