Freaking out (in a good way)
>> Friday, August 28, 2009
First, if you didn't read my pity party from just a few moments ago, please take a minute to read that post too...
I have to post again though because I just realized something HUGE!! Okay, remember how I said I was $500 away from being debt free by the end of September?
The reason I know this is because I have our budget done already so I know how much we'll have coming in and going out or how much we'll have leftover to send to our POS loan during the month. Even with every extra penny going to debt, we're $500 short of paying it off entirely.
Well, I was just looking over my budget for September and don't ask me how, but I counted our Home Equity Loan twice! That's $439! Obviously, I have no intention of sending them two payments so this $439 is actually money we'll be able to send to our debt! WAHOO!
That means, instead of $500 away from a September debt free date, we're only $61! You better believe I will be turning over every couch cushion, clipping every coupon, maybe even selling myself (I could probably get $61 I'm thinking) to get the $61 by September 30th.
Unless Murphy (bad luck, accident, emergency) strikes in September, so help me we WILL be DEBT FREE by October 1st.
Woot!

Just surfing around and stopping by - congrats! That is really HUGE to be that close to paying off debt.
And I bet you'll scrape the 61 together before you know it, without ever having to stand on a street corner looking for business ;)
question....if I just make min payments as well as extra payments on debt do I equate those into my ticker? and how do I do that...figure out whats interest and whats going to the debt?
p.s. I can't wait to celebrate via blog with you when you become debt free!!!!!
holy crap!
dude, go through your house and sell some crap on craigslist...I'll bet you can find $61 of junk you don't need!
way to go, you are my inspiration!
please tell me that as a celebration of being out of debt you'll go and buy something frivilous!!!
Please do not sell yourself. I will give you a $61 no interest loan before I let that happen. And by the way, you could totally get so much more than $61. (Amy - commenting from a different computer)
HEY! I found you through The Dad @ Climbing Out. Anyhow, I've been following your blog for a while and not sure if I ever posted or not.
Your blog addresses my two passions! My degree is in Exercise Physiology and I am a Dave Ramsey follower. In fact, my husband and I just completed baby step 2 just yesterday. As soon as the payment clears we'll be debt free! I'll be checking back with you to see if you "graduate" this month as well!
HOW EXCITING!!
