Where have I been?

Where are all my blog readers at? I haven't had comments in a while... everyone is so busy! It's okay, I understand... I haven't been keeping as current on my blog reading as normal either. I'm also noticing that others haven't been updating their own blogs as regularly. I guess we're all busy living life...

On Wednesday, it was my technical day and I really wanted to work on Double Unders with the jump rope. Just an FYI, that's when you jump once but the rope goes under you twice. In case you've forgotten since you were 8 years old! lol

Double unders have been a CONSTANT battle for me. I headed to the gym with jump rope in tow and told myself I wasn't leaving until I did 50 of them.

Completing 15 took me almost 20 minutes! Yeah, like I said, I suck at them! I had WELTS on my shins from the jump rope hitting--- my feet landed before the jump rope went full circle obviously.

Ugh. But I kept going. Slowly.

I did the next 15 faster and my success rate was getting better. Instead of getting one right 1 in every 10, it was more like 1 in every 3! JAM!

Then, something clicked. I struggled through 35 double unders and FINALLY something was clicking. The next 5 were quick and after each double under, I was able to get some additional hops in with the rope. That was a definite improvement because before this, I'd do a double under and not be able to do anything afterwards.

So I was at 40--- only 10 more to go! That's when I really pulled it out of my ass... I ended up doing 5 double unders CONSECUTIVELY... i.e. WITHOUT STOPPING! Crazy! Big improvement! I was getting a rhythm and figuring it out and it felt like I had really triumphed. I ended on a positive note with two rounds of 5 consecutive double unders!

This was yesterday. I cannot even begin to tell you how sore my calves are today! OH MY! I had not anticipated this!

This morning I did:
5 rounds
30 sit-ups
25 back extensions

I've done this two other times and my time before was 11:30. Oddly enough, I was thinking when heading to the gym that it was 11:10 so I was disappointed when I thought I had TIED my previous two times.

It's just now that I'm realizing I actually took 20 seconds off! WAHOO!

Okay, I'm tired so I need to go to bed. Peace out homies!

I've been busy visiting with my mom this week, so that's where I've been. I'll be back to regular commenting by tomorrow.

Wow, that just goes to show how much practice makes perfect! I need a little more motivation to train my weaknesses haha.
