Guess what I did today?

I worked out!

Wahoo! I made it to the gym and actually performed physical activity!

And yes, I feel the need to announce it these days since it's only happening once or twice each week lately.

Here's what I did:
2 sets of 12 reps each:
Barbell bench press (45#- probably could have done a bit more weight)
   Modified push-ups

Barbell shoulder press (30#- probably good starting weight)
Handstand push-ups (slightly modified, feet on Smith machine)

   Exercise ball push-ups (modified)

Let me say that push-ups suck. Or maybe I should say I suck at push-ups. Modified handstand push-ups are easier for me than modified regular push-ups.

After the "push" upper body workout above, I did half of the HIIT workout from today.
wallballs 50 seconds
rest 20 seconds
burpees 50 seconds
rest 20 seconds
jumping rope 50 seconds
rest 20 seconds

I did that 2 times through before ending to use the bathroom : P  It was a good workout! I liked it a lot!

The in-laws are still here until Saturday...

I agree that the push-ups suck. Caroline and I did this workout yesterday and cussed the whole time during the push-up section. Medicine ball pushups looked easy on the video, but holy hell, Batman - they suck. I'm looking forward to doing the HIIT workout this afternoon.

Push ups DO suck! Nice job on the workout!

Those push-ups totally kicked my butt, too! And you're right, I'm SO glad I made myself go to the gym, even though I DID have to drive 20 mph the whole way to get there!

Good for you for doing both the Push AND the HIIT workouts! You go girl!

Thanks for the comments on my blog.

I know that you had the best intentions when questioning my recent stove purchase. No worries!

Oh, and good job on the "long" comment, you made me proud! ;P
