Everything out the window?

Exercise
I headed to the gym this morning and had a really great workout. It was the FITR WOD of High-Intensity Interval Training and looked like this-

24 Mountain climbers
24 Walking lunges
24 Push-ups
24 Thrusters
24 Pull-ups (assisted, level 12)
24 Burpees (done w/ the jump @ the end)

I used a 10# dumbbell in each hand during the thrusters.

It was good, I really liked it. I probably could have done the whole thing through one more time and it would have really tired me out. I opted to stretch my hips instead which was probably a smart move.

The WOD was done to celebrate the season premiere of the TV show "24" which my hubby and I love. Pretty creative huh? I was impressed when he told me what it was...

Budget
I'm not sure if our budget has gone to crap this month or not but I feel like it probably has. The fact that I don't know is what worries me more than actually going over budget but being aware of it. I feel like we've spent money here and there a lot lately- nothing substantial, $8 here and $10 there... $3 on posters for Michael's race this past Sunday, $4 for Starbucks... you know the drill. I have no idea what the total tally is because I haven't even looked at our budget or balanced the checkbook.  Can you believe that? I haven't even looked at our budget or balanced the checkbook!  Aaah!

The Move
The only money we've paid out for the move so far is $65 for our application fee. But soon we'll have the cleaning deposit, pet deposit, and security deposit. Isn't it terrible that I don't even know how much that will be right now? I honestly have no clue. I should know this since it was on the MLS listing for the property but truth be told, I didn't even pay attention (yikes huh? What the hell is wrong with me?).

One good thing is we asked that our new lease begin on February 12th. Since we have to be out of our current place on February 25th, we're really only paying "double rent" for a fraction of February not the entire month. That certainly helps!

Budget, Work, Piano, The Move, Everything
Overall, I'm feeling incredibly overwhelmed right now. I feel like there are way too many things I don't have control over and I'm desperately trying to grasp onto something. I usually try to control every little detail but that stresses me out. So this time I'm trying to be more flexible with how things play out with work and the move but that's not exactly stress-free either, especially when my tendency is to micro-manage the details.

In addition, our homeowner's insurance, renter's insurance, and property taxes are all due so I can't forget to pay those. Thank heavens for sinking funds because I can't imagine paying those in full right now while we're trying to pay for a move. It's not like these bills are even a big deal, but it's just one more thing I need to do. I also need contacts because I'm on my last pair, but I really want to find a new eye doctor, so add that to my to-do list.

I actually had a very productive night yesterday and that helped. I boxed up and cleaned the guest bathroom. Since this room is never used unless we have visitors, this room is officially done! Tonight my goal is to tackle the guest bedroom and start using that room to store the boxes I'm putting together from the rest of the house so I'm not living with all of them!

I also practiced the piano last night and I'm really proud of how far I've come in such a short time. Songs I could not play during my lesson on Saturday are now much easier and it's actually starting to sound like music.

Thanks for listening to my babble... it helps to put it all down.

Just breathe. Some how it will all come together.

Good job on the work out. I didn't make it this morning. I'm too lazy for my own good. Had I made it though I was going to tackle Jack Bauer.

What Amy said - just breath.

It's a few really busy weeks (really just a few hectic days that seem like weeks) and everything gets back to "normal".

I feel ya though. Props to you for keeping as cool as you have been.

From one micromanager to another. Here's a little thought to brighten your day.

If an optimist had his left arm chewed off by an alligator, he might say, in a pleasant and hopeful voice, "Well, this isn't too bad. I don't have my left arm anymore, but at least nobody will ever ask me whether I am right-handed or left-handed," but most of us would say something more along the lines of "Aaaaah! My arm! My arm!" ~Lemony Snicket

I totally know how you feel about your lack of control. Cheers for trying to embrace that lack rather than fight it - which is what I tend to do. ;)

((hugs)) Be the optimist (not that you aren't...)

i get worked up just packing for 2 weeks on the road for work, a weekend home, 2 weeks on the road...

moving is definitely stressful, but it is not infinite. hang in there, allow yourself to "control" some small things but i agree - gotta let a lot of it roll for a short period of time.

We all need to babble every once and a while! You're busy... you've got a lot on your plate... don't fret!

I was going to write what others have already said... I guess it still counts...

Breathe. All will be well.

You do NOT have permission to slack on your budget, however. You have been far more diligent than us at it and if you slack off that means I'm hopeless! :)

Hi there! I have been busy over in my little small town world, but not as busy as you have been! WHEW! I'm getting tired just reading your posts!

I agree with the Dad...get back on your budget treadmill...you can do it!! :)
