"Teaching Little Fingers to Play"

I had my first piano lesson today!
She has 5 other students and they're under 10 years of age. The title of this post is also the title of the lesson book I'm using- cracks me up!
Hey, it's never too late to fulfill one of your dreams right? I've always loved the piano! I find it incredibly relaxing. My teacher- her name is Sanar- asked me what my goal is for these lesssons, essentially
Why do I want to learn to play the piano?
I told her I envision coming home from work and sitting down and just playing it- as a way to unwind from the day and get lost in playing. I don't have a dream of playing for anyone else ever, just me.
From there, we set goals 3 months down the road and even 3 years down the road. It was very motivating!
I have a keyboard and Sanar thinks it will work perfectly for me to practice on during the week. I've had this keyboard for years- since I started this blog actually! It's been in its case under the bed since we moved here two years ago. I realized that getting it out and setting it up was the biggest hurdle for some reason. Now that it's out in front of me- I can't wait to start practicing!
Now I just need to get off this damn computer- any tips for that?
We're going to see Avatar at the IMAX 3D tonight but 4 of our friends are coming over first! Should be a good night.
Oh, and I took 5th out of 10 players in poker last night- I got shit for cards and there was nothing I could do about it. I was the only chick playing and considering the crappy cards I got, I think I did ok. Michael, on the other hand, took 3rd and won $20.

I honestly thought the title of this post was a comment your teacher had said to you. HA! You do have little hands so it's possible.
I'm so excited for you. Music is such a wonderful thing you have in your life. And I agree the hardest part is getting it out. Mike's guitars are sitting out all the time, and he plays a whole heck of a lot more than I do. Must be something to that.
I am excited to see your enthusiasm for learning how to play the piano! Wahoo!
Good luck, Little Fingers.
Perfect practice makes perfect!
Sometimes I run across all of my beginner books and I get them out and play them just to humor myself. haha Its good to keep them because if you quit playing for a while (that's me) it helps you get your fingers moving again! It's always good to review the basics.
Way to go!!
