Day 19!

>> Monday, March 22, 2010

My friend Megan is still here and today we tackled Camelback Mountain.

It's a mountain right smack dab in the middle of Scottsdale. We chose to do the Cholla Trail side which is 1.5 miles up and a 1,200 foot climb to the top. Most people don't make it to the top actually, they only make it about 60% of the way to the "saddle" part of the hike. I'm really proud of Megan for making it all the way to the top because I know she wanted to quit before we even made it half way. I kept telling her "We're almost there..." even though we weren't. I knew once she got to the top and saw the view from up there, she'd be glad she didn't quit. The hike on all the websites is listed as "Strenuous" but I opted to not tell Megan that beforehand :)

On the way up I made a deal with Megan that if she made it to the top, I'd do my 19 burpees up there.

Here are some more pics from the trip-

I hope everyone is having a great week so far... I'm loving my time off from work- it's just what I needed! I even painted my finger nails black yesterday since I'm not allowed to do that at the office. They look good!

Until tomorrow,

Good job on your burpees girl! And way to trick Megan into hiking Camelback. I still want to do that some day. By the way, black nails are totally allowed at my office and I love them too.

Sounds like a great hike and way to step it up with the 19 burpees at the top! Woot!

Great job on the burpees. I missed mine yesterday. It was the first day in a while. Making up these higher numbers is tough!
