I think I found my calling in life...

I have a friend visiting from Michigan (Megan, a good friend since high school) so we decided to go to the Arizona Derby Dames matchup last night. It was awesome!

What a lot of people, even my closest friends, who are mostly from college, don't know about me is that in middle school and I high school, I speed-skated competitively on quads (roller skates, not inlines). Obviously, that was a long time ago and I haven't done it since then, but boy did I ever love it. And I wasn't half bad on four wheels.

I could totally see myself being a derby dame. I always thought there was like punching and stuff but it's moreso a lot of shoving and some elbow-throwing, which I like to think I can handle (and dish out)!

Here are some pics from our night (sorry they're kind of crappy... we're working on getting a new camera, bare with us because ours sucks right now big time).

I just want to wear a plaid skirt with striped socks and skanky leggings. Michael says I should just buy the outfit! We had a blast and I can't wait to go back... every there was dressed up in a very punk-rocker like outfit. I plan to buy something to wear for the next time we go. Yes, I'm a punk poser!

I highly recommend you search for a match up in your town! They're becoming more and more common so you might have a league and not even realize it!

Sounds like fun! If I were there, I would be dressing up punk right with ya!

Let's all think of Roller Girl Names for Kelsa. Here are some of my ideas:
Kacey D.C.
Sigourney Cleaver
Skate Beckimpale

Oh I so did not know you used to be a competitive skater. How did i not know this. THAT IS AWESOME. And further solidifies the fact that I think you should totally do this. As for names, I like Skate Beckimpale the best.
