Weekend of awesomeness

This weekend turned out to be absolutely perfect.
Michael and I slept in until noon on Saturday. Yes, you read that correctly- NOON! Even when we say we're going to sleep in, I'm usually up at 8 and Michael at 7. We just don't normally do it. We've both been saying the past week how we felt burnt out, stressed, and just plain pooped. On Friday night, we said we were going to sleep in and then joked about how we should be up by 8 then. I guess we really did need the sleep because holy cow!
From there I picked up around the house and practiced the piano. Then we decided to go rollerblading on the Scottsdale Greenbelt (see prior post). We did around 5-6 miles and were both somewhat sweaty by the end. The weather was low 70's and absolutely gorgeous!
Saturday night we watched two movies! : P Sounds ridiculous but honestly, it was exactly how we wanted to spend our Saturday so we did!
Since Saturday was lazy, Sunday was anything but.
I had a piano lesson at 10, then we had a friend's BBQ at 1:00. From there we went to the library and stocked up on a few good reads. Then I called my friend Liz and we met up at the Riparian Institute at Water Ranch. It's a water preserve with 7-8 ponds and 110-acres of natural landscaping with walking paths. We took our furbabies and walked around for an hour and a half. Again, it was low 70's in the valley today and absolutely gorgeous!
Then I came home and worked out
4x4
Wide grip pull-ups (assisted 40#)
Narrow grip cable row (55#,70#,75#,75#)
Bentover Barbell Row (70#)
superset with
Barbell curls (30#)
Towel pull-ups (assisted 40#,55#,55#,55#)
superset with
Hammer curls (15#)
Mixed in between the various exercises were my burpees. Since I didn't do them yesterday (too lazy :) ) I had 21 of them to do today! Oops! But I did them!
We went directly to the grocery store from the gym.
And now I'm home, tired from a busy day, but thankful that I was able to have such an amazing weekend.
Until tomorrow,
Kelsalynn

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! You guys needed that extra sleep!
Nice! That does sound like a good weekend. I slept in until noon a few weekends ago, and it was glorious. I'm the same way. Usually I say I'm going to sleep in but I'm up by 8:30 because of the cats. Stupid cats.
I'm not sure how I got a day off. I checked my blog. I had a post on March 6th that says I did day four. What day did you have as your starting date?
It has been tough to keep track! I just put the Monday #'s into my Palm, it'll be easier to track back one week rather than several weeks.
