Day 1- awesome workout!

>> Monday, April 12, 2010

If you're a day behind, you may want to read the post before this. I'm giving myself a body fat % challenge! I have until May 25th to lose 3.31% body fat.

Tonight was my first workout in quite a while. With a friend in town, then family visiting, unfortunately it just hasn't been a priority. Let me reverse that ... I HAVE been doing my burpees, I promise! But since it's the beginning, I just don't consider it a workout per se. But tonight marks Day 40 of my burpee challenge and let me tell you, 40 burpees ARE starting to become a workout!

In addition to my 40 burpees, I did the following:
3 sets of 10 push-ups
3 sets of 8 dumbbell shoulder press 20#
3 sets of 8 tricep dips

I started out the night with a 2-mile run. It makes me sad to report, though, that the run was not fun. It hurt like hell. The first mile was great, like a teaser on how enjoyable running COULD be. I realized how much I've missed it. But the second mile was painful. First my hip started to feel tight. I just ran through it. After about a 1/2 mile, the tightness kept moving lower and hit my knee.

I made it to a corner about a 1/2 mile away and decided to just stop. It's not like I'm training for anything so running in pain simply makes no sense. I sure do miss it though.

Until tomorrow,

Sucks about your hip/knee! Super proud of your workout, Kelsa! I know you're going to (to steal from Ben Folds) "Rock this bitch".

I'm so bummed for you about running, but I'm glad that you have the sense to stop before you hurt yourself. Regardless, you still did have one heck of a workout I'd say. 40 burpees? No thanks.

Sorry to hear that the running was painful. I forget, what was the injury again?
