What a difference

This past weekend, I pre-packaged my snacks for this week- little bit of fruit or vegetables per bag. I made some of my yogurt and protein snacks and purchased a few of the greek yogurts as well.
If you saw my sidebar yesterday, I ended up eating half of a donut. Someone always brings in treats here- usually daily and sometimes even twice a day. Yesterday I decided I would treat myself to half of a donut since I had been 100% strict zone for 3 days. Why not reward myself just a bit right?
I'll honestly say I didn't have any regret or guilt for eating that half of a donut either. It wasn't that big of a deal to me. But for the rest of the day, I craved sweets. I wanted a pop, I wanted a cookie, and I even glanced over at the donuts later in the afternoon. I didn't have anything else but I was very aware of how that sugar intake affected me. Some people crave salty things, I'm a sugar-girl all the way!I have to say that my mood and my energy level has been very consistent this week from my improved eating habits. I feel great!
I did 30 minutes of yoga last night at the gym. It was just okay. I'm not big into yoga and I don't particularly understand it's appeal. Ah well, it was better than sitting on my bum right?
Until tomorrow,

Great job with the snacks! And, really? Who can resist a donut?
I'm curious about your yoga. You said you did it at the gym, did you take a class, or just grab a mat and wing it? I am asking because some yoga classes (at least at my gym) are totally for like the 55+ crowd, more for flexibility than strength. And even though I do yoga all of the time and know a TON of poses, I really suck at just winging it myself. I always do a workout from TV or a DVD I have. I just find that I need help remembering when to breath in vs. out, I need the cues about how to do the poses correctly (even though I know, I need someone to remind me when I'm in the moment), and I need help stringing the posese together in a sequence that is actually challenging. I am usually soaked with sweat and "feeling it" in almost all of my muscles after a good yoga workout. But it's challenging at first to find a good one, and also to do things in a way that actually gives you a good workout. I didn't like it at first, but it's addicting after awhile. If you want to buy a DVD I'd recomend Jillian Michaels.
That's exactly what happens to me -- once I eat something w/ lots of sugar or simple carbs, then I have to fight cravings for that stuff for the rest of the day, and sometimes into the next day. But when I don't eat it, I don't crave it.
Your new snacks are def better than a Balance bar. Keep it up girl! :-D
