Batter up!

One of my new goals is to have more fun working out. Exercise, but do it in a more playful way. We've got boxing gloves and a kick guard so I'm planning to incooperate more of that into my workouts.
And I'm going to play softball once a week too! Tonight was our first game. We lost quite amazingly but I had soooo much fun! I played 2nd base which wasn't so bad. I had one really good stop and then a bunch hit to my left and right-too far for me to get to. But, I ran around a lot and had one really solid hit and even stole a base.
If tonight's game made me realize one thing, though, it's that I'm old. Fricken old. Oh my goodness, I am not nearly as graceful as I once was & I definitely felt stiff and awkward. I need to practice my throwing skills for sure!
Oh, I have another fun thing to announce. I'm going to be performing in a concert this coming holiday season! I told my piano teacher I need a little bit of motivation to practice these days and it was her idea. Honestly, I think it's brilliant!
We're going to host a concert the first week of December for our friends and their children. The whole idea is to "act like a kid". It's for the kids but also for the adults. I'm going to play Christmas music on the piano, she's going to do a sing-a-long performance that she's done before and two other girlfriends are also going to put on a small performance.
The holidays are fun but we wanted to really try and encourage the SPIRIT of Christmas. No gifts, no requirements, just hanging out, goofing around together, and enjoying each others' company! I love it and I'm so excited! I will definitely let you know how it goes!
We bought a new iMac computer yesterday. It's wonderful. I absolutely love it. We've been looking at them for a while... wait, let me rephrase that, my husband has been looking at them for a while and we decided it was time. As soon our laptop dies (we keep thinking it's about to happen but it's still truckin') we also plan to buy the Mac Air. I'm so sick of lugging that big laptop around with me to my meetings all day.

Twice, in Lawrence, we held a "Deck the Halls" party. We had all our friends over to make ornaments, decorate cookies, and help us decorate our tree. It was such a blast. It really celebrated the spirit of the season instead of the spirit of retail, which I loved. I'm kind of dreading Christmas this year. I feel pressure for the retail side of it and I'm struggling to balance how my families like to celebrate the holidays and how I want to celebrate the holidays. Your concert sounds amazing!
