Eva is a hoochie mama

>> Tuesday, June 30, 2009

So last night I was feeling crummy with cramps and just blah from Aunt Flo. Her vists are never welcome with me... My wonderful hubby came home from work with a slurpee for me! Aren't I the luckiest gal ever? So thoughtful...

I headed to the gym this morning for Day 2 of my AM workouts.

Not too bad once I got started. I did learn that I need to wake up a little sooner and eat earlier though. I felt a little "heavy" while exercising... otherwise, it was good.

Oh, I also learned I need to appear less approachable apparently, because I had a lot of people start chatting it up with me mid-workout. It's very different for me. I'm not usually a rotten bitch at the gym or anything, but I'm there to get the job done. The people there in the mornings workout, I think, (at least they appear to be in good shape) but they also chat a lot. They all seem to know each other and poke fun at each other. It's really a great environment, much different than the evening crowd where posing in front of the mirror and listening to your Ipod is more common.

Since most of my workouts are for time, the chatting isn't really my thing. Sure, we can chat when I'm done, but not during.

Today's WOD was Eva and she kind of hurt me.

4 rounds:
400 meter sprint
20 reps, 35# kettlebell swing
20 pull-ups (assisted level 10)

Total time = 26:01.

It was tough. I had to scale it because I can't do 80-100 pull-ups which was what the prescribed workout called for. This was the scale that allowed for assisted pull-ups. After swinging a 35# dumbbell over my head 80 times though, my hands/fingers were so sore I'm glad I did assisted- I don't think I could hang onto a bar without the help. Damn Eva...

I'll get her next time though.

Now I'm at work and I really don't want to be. I'm tired and would rather sleep. Hopefully the coffee wakes me up...

CrossFit total, new workout schedule

>> Monday, June 29, 2009

Today was my first day of working out in the morning before work.

With the AZ summer, the temp has finally reached 110! I decided it's a little too warm to bike to work officially.

We're still not buying a 2nd car, however. The new plan is for Michael to drop me off at the gym on his way to work - 5:45/6:00-ish. I'm going to work out and get ready at the gym, which luckily for us is right across the street from my office. So once I'm done working out and showering, I walk over to work. It's still hot at 7:30 when I cross the street- around 100 degrees, but I think it will be okay.

And since I only live a couple of miles from the office, a co-supervisor is willing to drive me home after work a few days each week. Michael gets done at noon two days a week so really, I only need a ride home 3 days each week.

There are also 3-4 other people who live less than a mile from me who have offered to take me home, so I have a few back-ups just in case.

I'm blessed to be surrounded by such amazing colleagues! We wouldn't be able to be a one-car household if it wasn't for them.

So, back to my workout this morning. It was "okay." Not great. Just okay. Aunt Flo came to visit this morning so maybe that's why I just wasn't feeling it. I'm definitely experiencing some cramps, but maybe it was just mental too. Or maybe it's just because it was my first workout in the AM in quite a while. It will certainly take some getting used to.

I did "CrossFit Total" again, which I normally love. You do a one rep max of a back squat, shoulder press, and deadlift.

I actually did worse today than I did the last time.

Here's how it compares:
5/24 Today
Back Squat: 205 195
Shoulder press: 70 65
Deadlift: 185 195
TOTAL SCORE 460 455

So, as you can tell, I actually decreased the amount of shoulder press and back squat weight I could do, but increased my deadlift. I just wasn't feeling it today I guess. I couldn't get the shoulder press up at 70 pounds without a little help from my legs which means it doesn't count. And I did the back squat at 205 but I'm also not counting that one because I barely squated, at least it didn't feel like I went down far enough.

The crowd at the gym in the morning is very different than at night. They are much more talkative and friendly in the morning. Everyone knows each other and 3 people came up and introduced themselves to me. I told them I've been working out in the evenings and they excitedly responded with, "Glad you could join us in the mornings!" These are not employees of the gym, just people working out! Crazy right? I need to get used to it b/c I'm generally not very social when I'm at the gym.

This is a 4-day week for me since I get Friday off and so does Michael! I'm so excited and can't wait for the 3-day weekend.
Until tomorrow,

No Cheat July, Killer WOD

>> Saturday, June 27, 2009

Today has been just about the perfect day. I feel like it had the perfect mix of relaxation and productivity.

First, we woke up and made pancakes for the first time in forever. Pancakes aren't exactly "approved" in the Zone diet, but we found a recipe that uses whole wheat pancake mix and protein powder. Instead of syrup, we used sugar free strawberry jelly. Starting the weekend with a new recipe that totally turned out better than expected is just awesome.

From there we went to see Transformers II. I bought Michael tickets for his birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. We went in with low expectations though b/c everyone we knew said it was cheesy and not very good. We really liked it though.

From there, we came home and cleaned for a couple of hours. And I don't mean "did the dishes and laundry" kind of cleaning. I cleaned out the downstairs closet (needed it!) and cleaned out the pantry (washed the shelves, etc). Then, I swept and mopped behind the fridge (totally disgusting), wiped down all of the kitchen cabinet doors, and cleaned the downstairs bathroom from top to bottom.

Then as if all of that wasn't enough, I wiped down all of the baseboards downstairs. They needed it really bad! While doing this, I also washed some of our doors where we tend to kick or scuff with our shoes.

You can imagine we totally needed a break after all of that, so we headed to the pool to relax. It was great. The weather today in AZ was110 degrees and the water temperature was refreshingly perfect!! I also curled up with Megan's book and read while soaking up the sun and Michael napped.

I came home and talked to one of my best friends Amy on the phone for a while and had a quick snack.

Then off to the gym we went for one of the hardest WOD's EVER! It took me 32:22 and it took Michael 32:50 which is way longer than our typical CrossFit workouts! Of course, I loved it though.

Here's what I did:
Right arm BARBELL push press - 25 lbs
Left arm BARBELL deadlift - 65 lbs
Run 1/2 mile
Left arm BARBELL push press - 25 lbs
Right arm BARBELL deadlift - 65 lbs
Run 1/2 mile

REPEAT!

I want to make sure you read that correctly- I wrote BARBELL not dumbbell. I used a really long bar ONE HANDED so I had to use all of the muscles in my arm to steady the weight. And when I did the deadlifts, the weight would tip forward or backward with even the slightest movement in my wrist or forearm. It was TOUGH!

The first two rounds, I did run 1/2 mile each. But I noticed a "twinge" in my hip the second round so I decided to do another form of cardio the 3rd and 4th rounds. It took me 4:03 to run both rounds of 1/2 mile sprints, so I subbed 4:03 on the stairmill during round 3 and 4:03 on the bike for round 4.

I was drenched with sweat. It was nasty. I mean awesome.

Now I'm at home getting ready to eat dinner (chicken & veggies, nothing exciting) and we rented Gran Torino on DVD for tonight.

__________________________________________

Also, I randomly decided to make July a "NO CHEAT" month! For no reason in particular, I'm going to try and make it through the entire month without any cheating diet-wise. Normally I will allow myself "indulgences" every week or here and there and not really worry too much about it. I think I eat very healthy for the most part, so I don't beat myself up if at a work potluck I have some dessert. But, just for the sake of challenging myself, I want to go a full 31- days without those little indulgences.

It's going to be tough. There's going to be temptation. But I am going to do it!
Do you want to join me????

WOD OUCH!

>> Friday, June 26, 2009

Today's workout was a lot of fun. I loved it, I just wish my hands didn't hurt like hell from it.

"Nicle" =
AMRAP in 20 minutes:
Run 400 meters
Pull-ups

Before you ask, yes, yes, I did run although I probably shouldn't have. I still really enjoy running so it's hard not to do it although all day I said I was going to do a different type of cardio- biking, rowing, etc. In the end, running it was.

For the pull-ups, I did kipping pull-ups UNASSISTED!

I did 6 rounds in all, or 1.5 miles.
Here's how I did each round in pull-ups:
5
3
4
3
5
2
Total = 22

On the last round, I was slightly distracted w/ Michael's "coaching" so I dropped after 2 by accident. I jumped back up though and did 3 more. They don't count though because it's however many you can do without dropping.

Fun workout.

The last time I did "Nicole" was March 30th. It's actually pretty crazy to compare the two-

*3/30 I did 6 rounds, Today I did 6 rounds
*3/30 I did ASSISTED pull-ups on level 10, Today I did UNASSISTED PULL-UPS
*3/30 I did 7 pull-ups each round or 42 total, Today I did 22 total
*3/30 I ran at 8.5 mph and today I ran 7.5-8.0 mph and I'm injured.

To me, there's some pretty big improvements there, especially in my upper body. I mean, to go from doing 42 pull-ups on LEVEL 10 to 22 UNASSISTED pull-ups, that's a pretty big jump in a few short months.

Now, if only it didn't hurt to type this I'd be all set.

AMRAP in 20 minutes (As Many Rounds As Possible):
5 reps, 45# Thrusters
7 reps, 45# Hang Power Clean
10 reps, 45# SDLHP (sumo deadlift high-pull)

The problem?
I can't remember if I completed 7 or 8 rounds! I'm so mad, but I was really just trying so hard at the end to keep moving and keep proper form (because I really just wanted to die) that I lost track of what number I was on! Argh! I'm really thinking I did 8 rounds, but I'm not sure.

It was really hard. Really awesome, but really hard. My wrists and forearms were killing me after a few rounds but I had time left to fill so I kept going.

On a different note:

So sad... I remember listening to him in the car and I had a tank top with the above picture on it. When someone from your childhood passes away, there's a very eerie feeling. I feel like I'm at some sort of passage in my life. It's weird.

$$$$$$$$$$

One of the payments I talked about yesterday has been applied to my student loan balance...I'm still waiting for the other payment to be applied but I just could not wait to update my debt payoff bar.

It went from 75% to 78%!

So far, we've paid off $47,334.20
and we have $13,618.55 remaining!

And that number will be even less in the next day or two or three- whenever they receive my other payment.

Thinking ahead

It's been a while since I've blogged about anything money-related and I realized, shame on me!

In the next few days, I will be sending $3,407 to my student loans!

That's a lot of money and considering I've already sent $1,960 during the month of June, I'd say that this month our snowball is bigger than ever!

Our snowball for June is $5,367! Okay, that's crazy even to me! (A typical month is around $3,000.) I'll update the debt payoff bar on the right once the payments have cleared (it's so hard to wait!)

Since we're just a few months away from being debt-free (cross your fingers for Oct/Nov), I've really started to think about what we will make our money do for us when we're not sending it all to ShittyBank and SallieMae.

The first is that we're going to create our FULL EMERGENCY FUND. This is typically 3-6 months worth of expenses, which I've calculated to be $11,235 (3 mos) or $22,470 (6 mos).

Therefore, our goal before any vacation or other purchase will be to get $11,235 in the bank as soon as possible.

Once that's done, we'll begin contributing 15% per month to retirement and the difference will be used to save for a vacation and a new car!

I've also realized that because our monthly payments have almost disappeared (fewer debts), right now we could live off one income entirely. That realization is very liberating and freeing.

I love thinking about paying ourselves first and we're almost able to do that. Almost.

5 rounds x 3 reps

55

I did this workout once before on May 4th. You can read about it here.

The important part is that I increased my max rep by 20 pounds! Wahoo! My max before was 75 pounds.

And the thing is, I could have kept going I think. Can't wait for next time.

3 rounds:
Run 400 meters - 7.7 on treadmill
21 kettlebell swings (26#kb)
12 handstand push-ups (feet on the bar)

Total time = 11:09

Fun. Fun.

***UPDATE- it's now Tuesday morning (the day after the above WOD) and my hip and knee are really hurting. They're both very stiff and achy; with every step I feel them both. I guess sprinting 3/4 mile was a bad idea. Argh.

New Max = 25!!!

>> Sunday, June 21, 2009

Today, I had an AWESOME workout. I'm still on a high and it was hours ago.

I did 5 rounds of 5 pull-ups- UNassisted!!!

That's 25 pull-ups!

The most I completed before today was 12, so I more than doubled my max number of pull-ups!

After each round of 5 pull-ups, I did 10 reps of practice kips. My hands are killing me-

Photobucket

Michael took a video of me while doing one round of the pull-ups and we came home and made it look all cool by adding a title, some music, and a fade out at the end.

My house never did get the good, thorough cleaning I was planning on giving it this weekend. But I did do 25 kipping pull-ups so at least something was accomplished!

>> Saturday, June 20, 2009

The pool party was a blast- lots of very wasted people and I had some fun playing beer pong, which I don't think I've done since college.

We took the camera but did not take a single picture- WTF? Don't ask. I'm not a big picture taker to be honest... too busy talking shit usually and just plain having a good ol' time.

Michael took this picture of me with his Crackberry. It's the only pic of the night, which is really too bad b/c my slip dress was adorable. I really do wish I had a picture of it for ya'll. I mean, after showing you pictures of my bloated gut, I figure you might appreciate a pic of me in a dress. Ah well.

By the way, I can totally tell by my smirk in this picture, that I was either just finishing or just about to talk shit to someone. Dress or no dress, some things never change...

Proof

Today is a CrossFit yesterday, but I still have to blog people!!!

We went to see "Hangover" this morning and it was hilarious! Very good movie and I recommend it.

I put on a pair of jeans and tank to wear to the theater and realized my bloatedness from the other day was gone.

I decided to take a picture, just so you could better see just how bloated I really was.

The picture on the left is from the other day and the picture on the right (orange tank) is from today... I promise you, I am not "sucking it in" or tightening my muscles nor am I slouching to make it look worse in the first. I'm completely relaxed in both pics.

The only difference is that on the right side, I'm taking the picture so my arm is up to hold the camera.

Crazy right?

Can't lift my arms...

>> Friday, June 19, 2009

Tonight's WOD was a doozy... all "pushing" motions with the upper body.

By themselves, each exercise is pretty easy, but you add them together and your arms reach fatigue very fast.

As many rounds in 20 minutes as you can:

Handstand push-up, 5 reps
Bench press, 65#, 10 reps
Push press, 45#, 15 reps
Dips, 20 reps

I wouldn't say it "hurt", but I honestly could not feel my arms. When I'd do a push-up or a dip, I would hesitate a little because I didn't know if my arms could support my body weight anymore. They were so fatigued I thought I was going to drop myself...

I ended up completely 4 total rounds.

Tomorrow I'm sure I'll be incredibly sore! Luckily it's a CrossFit rest day and my boss is having a bbq/pool party so it should be a fun day. Michael and I are going to see "Hangover" in the morning- I've heard it's really good!

Until tomorrow,

BLAH

>> Thursday, June 18, 2009

It was one of those days right from the beginning...

I woke up at 7:11 AM.

Mind you, I leave my house to bike to work at 7:00 so to say I was running a little late, is a huge understatement.

To my own surprise, I managed to wash my face, brush my teeth, dress myself, make a lunch, make my breakfast and bike to work and arrive at 7:50 AM.

Go me.

The day got better once I slowed myself down.

All day, though, I have been extremely bloated. It's weird...

I decided I must be experiencing sympathy attributes for Jess, who's very preggers right now...

See for yourself:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I tried to take the first picture and as you can tell, it wasn't that great. So I asked Michael to take a picture of my bloatedness to which he replied, "You're going to put pictures of it on your blog?"

Hells yeah.

Just for you my friends.

Despite my preggers belly, I headed to the gym and did today's WOD.

I did the "Puppies" scaling b/c the other scales called for actual pull-ups and I couldn't do as many straight pull-ups as required so I had to take it down a notch.

I ended up doing:
25 wall balls (11#)
25 pull-ups (level 10)
20 wall balls
20 pull-ups
15 wall balls
15 pull-ups

Total time = 9:36

I really enjoyed this workout... great for the arms. LOVED IT!

HPS = Hang Power Snatch or Hard Punk Shit

>> Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I headed to the gym tonight for what seemed like a quick and easy power workout.

CrossFit called for 10- 1 rep maxes of a hang power snatch.

Here's a video of some buff dude doing a hang power snatch:

I'm always prematurely excited when I see a quick workout for CrossFit until I start doing it and realize it's short for a reason- because it's also hard as hell.

Tonight was no exception.

It was the first time I've ever done a hang power snatch. I started with a simple 25 pounds to warm up and get the movement down and realized rather quickly it wasn't going to be easy.

Here are my 10 reps:
30
35
40
45
50
55
60
65
70 (faulted- did not get it up)
65

I'm not overly concerned with the amount of weight (or lack thereof) because I know the power behind my movement and my form is most important. It is a great movement to do because it requires your entire body to be in sync and under complete control and it really enforces pure power. I look forward to getting better at this exercise. I'm sure my weights are pretty weak.

The rack we used at the gym was right next to the pull-up bar. While Michael was in between his reps, I would do a pull-up. I ended up doing 5 or 6 tonight "just because." That's right- a PULL-UP JUST BECAUSE! Crazy right? After every one, I'd jump down and have a HUGE SMILE on my face.

I can do a pull-up.

Hell yeah.

Kelsalynn
********************UPDATE: I just compared my reps and weight to other females on the CrossFit website and I actually didn't do too bad. My weight was pretty comparable so I guess this exercise is just tough in general and not just for me.

Sore legs

>> Monday, June 15, 2009

After doin 150 squats yesterday, I didn't really expect to be sore. I know that sounds crazy, but when it comes to CrossFit, 150 squats isn't really that extreme.

But, maybe the 65# power cleans in addition to the squats is what it did it because I woke up this morning, and my quads are KILLING ME! In a good way of course, but holy cow, I haven't been THIS SORE in a long time.

Tonight's CF WOD called for a 5K time trial. I'm not running, as we all know, so I decided to do the WOD from Saturday which I skipped.

Guess what that workout was???

I did it here on April 17th and here on February 26th- improving my time from 13:45 to 12:07.

The workout is:
100 feet of lunges
21 pull-ups
21 sit-ups
100 feet of lunges
18 pull-ups
18 sit-ups
100 feet of lunges
15 pull-ups
15 sit-ups
100 feet of lunges
12 pull-ups
12 sit-ups
100 feet of lunges
9 pull-ups
9 sit-ups
100 feet of lunges
6 pull-ups
6 sit-ups

The difference tonight is that I did it from home. Since I don't have an assisted pull-up machine at home, I used Michael's rings and did jumping pull-ups instead.

Tonight my time was 11:53.

And I'm drenched with sweat waiting for Michael to come home from his 5K time trial so we can eat dinner.

Until tomorrow,

Nasty Girls

>> Sunday, June 14, 2009

No, this isn't going to be a hater post where I bitch and complain about some nasty girls... although that would probably be much funnier... that was the name of today's WOD for CrossFit. Where do they get these names from????

Anyway, "Nasty Girls" called for:

3 rounds of:
50 squats
20 seated muscle-ups (actual workout called for 10 regular muscle-ups, since I can't do those, I double the modified version)
10 hang power cleans 65#

My time was 18:38

It was my first workout in a week. Although I started feeling better mid-week, it wasn't until Friday that my body stopped "aching" from being sick. You know that achy feeling? Friday was a rest day for CrossFit and Saturday I volunteered at a golf tournament for work all day, which leads me to today... the first day in a week that I worked out.

The first workout is always a bitch when you've had time off. It was really tough. I was completely zapped afterwards and my arms and legs were both EXHAUSTED!!! It felt great to have my ass kicked again though! I love it!

Some of you have been asking about our meal plans... Every Sunday, Michael and I plan our meals for the week and then do one grocery trip with what we need. Since today is Sunday, I thought I would post our meal plan for this week so you guys can see how not-creative we are! We have some favorites so we just stick with those- we already have the measurements figured out for our ZONE DIET and we know we like them...

Monday
B: Egg bake (see recipe from here)
L: Chili
D: Tofu stirfry

Tuesday
B: Egg bake (we make it on Sunday night (tonight) and it's enough for two days)
L: Turkey wrap
D: Chili (again, this is in the crock pot right now and we'll have it for lunch on Monday and dinner on Tuesday)

Wednesday
B: Fruit & Protein Smoothie
L: Ham & veggies
D: Chicken & veggies

Thursday
B: Egg wrap + cheese & glass of juice or fruit
L: Black bean burger, cottage cheese, veggies
D: Tuna quesadilla

Friday
B: Fruit & protein smoothie
L: Turkey wrap
D: Chicken & veggies

Saturday and Sunday we have leftovers or use food not used eralier in the week. We don't usually plan meals for Saturday or Sunday so we don't buy any particular groceries. It just always works out that we have enough stuff left from the week that we don't have to go without. For lunch, we may eat different things b/c we won't have enough for two of something though.

Until tomorrow,

Sunday was a total blur.
Monday I stayed home from work and slept on and off all day.

Today I went to work, but left after 4 hours. I came home and slept for 5 more hours. I can't believe it myself because all I've done the past few days is sleep, yet I'm still exhausted.

I probably won't have any problems going to bed tonight either...

For the most part, I guess I feel okay. Not great. Not good. Just okay.

I only eat a little bit here and there so I don't totally have my appetite back. I haven't been working out b/c my body is still really weak.

The worst part now are the hot flashes. I feel like I'm experiencing menopause or something, it's crazy. They come and go throughout the day and when I wake up from one of my countless naps, I'm always drenched with sweat.

Ah well.

Barf-tastic

What a night last night.

What a day today.

Michael and I both got food poisoning and it's been ugly.

I can honestly say that the last 24 hours are up there as the worst ever.

It's been shit-tastic and barf-tastic. It's amazing how your body will cleanse itself of everything when it senses something bad. I tell myself that now... that my body was just protecting itself from harmful bacteria but last night, after waking up 3,484 times to shit or puke, and getting little to no sleep, I wasn't as reasonable.

It's 7:42 PM on Sunday and I just woke up. I've been awake a lot throughout the day, but for the most part, this is the first time I've woken up naturally and not because of the sudden and intense urge to purge. That rhymes. haha.

Ugh. What a day.

Today, we did "Lynne." The prescribed workout is 5 rounds of:

Body weight bench press
Pull-ups

as many as you can do of each in a round... so you just keep going until you hit fatigue each round.

Well, I can't bench press 135 pounds so I just had to guess what weight to use... Plus, I've never really done bench presses seriously so I was guessing on weight. I decided to do 65 pounds on the bench press and level 9 on the pull-ups.

I realize now though that I totally short-changed myself. I can't wait to do this workout again and take it up a notch now that I know what to expect.

Here's my rep count for bench press/pull-ups for each round:
10/10
10/10
10/10
12/8
11/10

Since it was my first time really doing the bench press, I realized after the third round that I wasn't giving it all I had because once my arms started to get tired, I was afraid to keep going. I was scared that I was going to drop the bar on my chest. But then I realized Michael was there spotting and I know he would never let anything bad happen which is why I was able to do 12 reps on the 4th round and 11 on the 5th. That's what I mean by I short-changed myself b/c I didn't realize it until 3 rounds were already done.

Oh well... room for improvement next time.

Tonight we're having friends over to watch the Red Wings game and play some cards... should be fun!

Until tomorrow,

Deadlifts & Poker

>> Friday, June 5, 2009

Sorry, another quick post...

I left work an hour early today so I could fit in a workout.

Luckily it was a quick one-
7 x 1 reps of deadlifts

I did:
145
155
165
175
185
195
205

205!!!! Pretty sweet right? My max before today was 175 so it's a big improvement. I fixed my movement tonight and it immediately made the deadlifts much easier. Jam!

I just got home but I need to shower, get ready, and eat dinner before heading over to my boss's house to play some poker.

Texas Hold 'em anyone?

I hope I win... I love winning period, but especially when I'm the only chick and I take all the money from the men! I hope tonight is my night...

Until tomorrow,

Gym trip after all

>> Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Well, I went to work today all bandaged up!

I had no intentions of working out today. I figured I would probably be more sore today from the fall...

but I was wrong.

My knee is swollen, my ankle has a golf ball sticking out of the side, and I have some very distinct scrapes and bruises up and down my left side...

besides those few dozen ailments, I feel fine.

The worst part about today is that I tend to sit on my left leg when I'm at my desk. It's just habit and what's comfortable for some reason. Well, my left leg is where all of my deep scrapes are but I would forget sometimes and end up sitting on them. Yikes. That never felt great, but for the most part, I felt fine otherwise.

Michael does personal training on Tuesdays so I left work and headed to the gym instead of going home. This wasn't planned, I decided at the last minute that I felt good enough to workout. I told myself I wouldn't push it if it was hurting or uncomfortable on any of my injured areas, but I ended up making it through the whole workout.

I did "Erin" which calls for 5 rounds of the following:
15 reps 25# dumbbell split clean
21 pull-ups (assisted level 10)
Total time = 25:05

Here is my time for each of the 5 rounds:
3:48
5:24
5:23
5:15
5:13

It was HELLA hard. My arms were numb after the first round already and I thought there was no way I was going to finish all five... I'm happy to see those splits and realize that I was very consistent in the final rounds.

Here's a video of what a dumbbell split clean looks like- I did it with a 25# weight in each hand:

oops

Just writing to let you know I won't be working out for a few days, I'm thinking.

See, what had-happened was...

Normally, I'm fairly coordinated.

But in the past week, I've fallen not once, but twice from my bike.

Not sure what the deal is there, but it was in the same spot both times.

The spill I took tonight on my way home was a doozy.

I'm scraped up pretty good on my left leg and my palms (braced the fall, unsuccessfully I might add) and initially, that's all I thought were the results of my joy ride.

But as the night goes on, my knee is only growing in size and my right ankle is also bruised more than I thought originally.

The more time that goes by, the worse my ligaments feel from today's collision course with the hard Arizona ground.

I'm sure over the next couple of days, I'll really be feeling some aches and pains that I don't feel even now. It's going to be a painful few days.

All I can do is laugh at myself.

Curse, but laugh.
